Gedung PKM Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Sulawesi Tenggara Dengan Penekanan Arsitektur Islam

Abstract

The design of the Student Activity Center (PKM) Building at Nahdlatul Ulama University of Southeast Sulawesi aims to provide a representative and adaptive facility for student activities based on Islamic architectural principles. This study seeks to create a building that accommodates students’ academic, organizational, and extracurricular activities while reflecting the Islamic architectural values of balance, order, and simplicity. The design method employs a qualitative descriptive approach through field data collection, literature review, site analysis, and architectural concept formulation. The results show that the implementation of Islamic architecture is reflected in the building’s orientation toward the Qibla, the use of simple geometric forms, and the incorporation of natural light and open spaces that promote harmony between functionality and spirituality. The PKM building is designed as a student activity hub featuring multifunction halls, organizational spaces, discussion rooms, and supporting facilities integrated within the UNU SULTRA campus environment.
