This paper aims to select the appropriate location and site for building a Tolaki traditional arts and culture center with an emphasis on neo-vernacular architecture. It also aims to plan and design the facilities and infrastructure for the Tolaki traditional arts and culture center to accommodate activities and practitioners. It also applies the neo-vernacular architectural concept to the building of the Tolaki traditional arts and culture center in Konawe Regency. The Tolaki people are one of the indigenous tribes in Konawe Regency, possessing a rich heritage of traditional arts and culture, including the Lulo dance and Mondotambe dance, traditional musical instruments, weaving, and traditional ceremonies steeped in philosophical values. However, rapid modernization has led to a decline in public interest in preserving local culture, especially among the younger generation. Therefore, this thesis designs a Tolaki Traditional Arts and Culture Center using a neo-vernacular architectural approach as an effort to preserve and re-actualize local culture in the form of a representative and educational physical space. This design adapts traditional architectural elements of the Tolaki traditional house (Laika), such as the gable roof shape, stage structure, use of local materials, and traditional ornamental patterns, combined with modern and environmentally friendly design principles. The design is located on Jalan Lakidende, Unaaha District, Konawe Regency, which has historical value and easy access. The building is designed to accommodate an art gallery, performance space, training room, and community education area. It is hoped that this design will serve as a symbol of Tolaki cultural preservation and a learning medium for current and future generation.
