The increasing interest of Kendari City residents in fitness activities demands the availability of adequate, comfortable, and sustainable fitness center facilities. However, most existing fitness center buildings still pay little attention to the thermal comfort aspect. This study aims to design a Fitness Center Building with an emphasis on the concept of green architecture as an effort to create an environmentally friendly, energy-efficient building, and support the health and comfort of users. The research method used is literature study and field observation to obtain data on space requirements, facilities, and potential planning locations. Data were collected according to the research objectives. This study aims to: (1) To determine a suitable location for the Kendari City fitness center building; (2) To apply the Green Architecture concept so that it can support the function of fitness center activities; (3) To apply the Green Architecture Concept to the physical appearance of the building. This green architecture concept has several benefits including more durable buildings, energy efficiency, minimal building maintenance, more comfortable to live in, and healthier for residents. The design results are expected to not only help in energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, but also improve the comfort and health of Kendari City community users.
