Gelanggang Remaja di Unaaha Kabupaten Konawe Dengan Penekanan Arsitektur Kontemporer

Abstract

This research aims to formulate the concepts for planning and designing a youth center building in Unaaha. This facility will serve teenagers in the Unaaha District during after-school hours, providing a space to develop their interests in sports, arts, and various skills within an inviting and safe environment that reflects the identity of the local community.

Based on the results of a questionnaire, it was found that the interests of teenagers in Unaaha include sports (jogging, futsal, volleyball, and badminton), arts (dance, painting, music, and theater), and skills (photography, videography, programming, and culinary arts). Therefore, the space programming will focus on accommodating these activities, combined with a design concept inspired by the traditional 'Kalosara' form expressed in a contemporary architectural style.

The design features two cylindrical buildings, with the main structure resembling the base of a Kalosara at the center. The building is designed with a transparent and inviting concept, allowing visitors to have a clear view of the activities inside. This transparency is intended to facilitate passive surveillance, enhancing the safety and security of users. The facade of the building is designed to appear contemporary, incorporating a double skin that is inspired by the rattan circle of the Kalosara.
